Knitter and outdoor Enthusiast turned Indie dyer
A bit about myself: I have worked full time for the last 25 years as an environmental compliance specialist for a variety of consulting firms here in Fairbanks, AK. I have also spent the last 20 years dreaming of owning my own fiber based business. During the pandemic shutdown I found myself, like everyone else, with a lot of time on my hands. After spending too much time on YouTube I stumbled upon a fellow independent dyer and was hooked on her how to videos and began to learn the process. Initially it was experimental, helping my daughter finish her first hand knit sweater out of plain vanilla fisherman’s wool. We wanted to add some color and thus my foray into independent dyeing began. Hand dyeing unique colorways has become an obsession of mine and I hope you will tag along with me on this exploration in color theory as my business continues to grow. Thanks for stopping by!
SHOP POLICIES
Please review my shop policies regarding shipping, custom orders, and returns.
SHIPPING
Due to the high shipping costs, when sending packages outside of Alaska, I will no longer be able to offer free shipping on orders over $100. Squarespace automatically calculates your order shipping rate based on total weight of the order and current postage rates from here in Alaska to your destination. Larger orders (>4 skeins) will typically ship using USPS Priority mail rates. International shipping is available but a $5 surcharge will be added to offset the international shipping and customs rates.
POLICIES
Custom Order Policy - all custom quantity orders will be paid in full prior to me processing and fulfilling your order. Once your order request is submitted I will generate a bill for you to review and pay or ask questions at the time of billing. Please remember that custom orders take time to fulfill since they consist of colorways that are not ready to ship. Expect a lead time of up to two to three weeks, or longer, to process and ship your custom order.
Returns Policy - if you have any questions or issues with your order, I ask that you write to me within 4 days of receiving your order in the mail at 64northfibersak@gmail.com
Returns and refunds are allowed for limited reasons including - receiving the wrong item. Other order issues can be addressed individually on a per customer/per order basis if you feel something is wrong with your order or it was not what was expected. All eligible returns must be in their original packaging and in skein form with labeling intact. I will not accept skeins that have already been wound into a ball or that have been worked with. All products must be clean and free of odors and stains in order for me to accept the items and restock them for resale. I will not issue refunds or returns on items damaged during shipping or items that are delayed due to the US Postal Service mail routing issues. Bearing all of this in mind, customer satisfaction is a top priority of mine. i strive to fulfill orders as quickly as my schedule allows and to ship them in a manner that is protective of the product. Hand dyeing yarn is a passion of mine and I take pride in curating carefully thought out colorways that enhance the natural beauty of each yarn base I offer in the shop.
